American Water Spaniel is a muscular dog, with a curly coat. This dog breed is self confident, attractive and intelligent. The American Water Spaniel was first discovered in United States. This breed is categorised as a hunting dog.
Physical Appearance of American Water Spaniel Dog Breed
The size of the dog breed is around 16 to 18 inches in length. The male breed weigh between 30-45lbs and the female is a little bit smaller around 25-40lbs. The length is more important in this breed than the tallness, however the most important factor is the dog to be well balanced and sound. The eyes are medium size and slightly round, ears are above the eyes, skull is broad and full, nose is well developed for good scenting power. Shoulders are sloping and muscular. The coat can either be curled or waives shaped. Ears are well covered with coat and coat can be trimmed to give the dog a well groomed appearance.
Colors of American Water Spaniel Dog Breed
This dog breed is found in dark colors, it can be dark brown, dark chocolate or solid liver colors. Sometimes white color is found in toes and chest. Some dogs are having yellow eyes and this is a mark of disqualification for that particular dog.

The American Water Spaniel dog breed is intelligent and friendly. This dog likes to hunt and also want to be the watchdog for the fields.
