The Boston Terrier belongs to the non sporting group. The origin of the Boston Terrier dates back to 1870. It is a cross breed of English Bulldog, English Terrier and French Bulldog. The Boston Terrier is also known with the name of Boston Bull dog, Boston bull terrier, Boston bull, Boston. The average life span of the Boston Terrier is around13 to 15 years.

Physical Characteristics
The Boston Terrier is a large sized animal. It stands very tall. The average height of healthy male Boston Terrier is about 15 to17 inches. And that of a female Boston Terrier is also same. Both the male and its female counterpart weigh the same. The average weight of a Boston Terrier is around 4.5 to 11.3 kilograms. The coat of this dog is very beautiful, thin and fine coat with almost no shedding. The Boston Terrier comes into a combination of white and one other colour which can be, brown and white, brindle and white, black and white. In some cases it can be red and white also.
Nature of Breed
The Boston Terrier is a very loving, caring and gentle animal. It is very intelligent and very well mannered. It barks very less. It always tries to be playful and make the owner happy. They easily learn new thing so they are very easy to train. They form a great bond with the family and they kids. They also turn out to be a very good companion of elderly people. It is a very sensitive animal and if harsh tone is used it can upset the Boston Terrier.
