Breed Information
The bullterrier is considered a mastiff by most of the kennel clubs but a terrier by American Kennel club. This is a cross breed of Old English Terrier , Bulldog and a Spanish Pointer breed, bred in the 1800 for bull baiting. The bullterrier is very energetic and strong and has proven to be a very good watchdog and a companion of the humans.

Physical Characteristics
This dog has a distinctive appearance. Its head is oval in shape. The eyes are almond shaped and small and are nearer to the ears than the nose. The ears are pointed and placed near to the head. When the dog is doing something its ears become erect. It is not a small dog. It stands about 20 to 24 inches tall and weighs around 20 to 36 kilograms. Its legs are very strong. The tail is not very long. The neck of this dog is very muscular. Its hair is short. The bull terriers are Brindle, fawn, brown and tan in colours and may or may not have white marks on the body.
Nature of Breed
Though this dog is considered very gentle and kind and loves to be with people it hates being teased. Its forms a bond with humans, specially kids. It is very energetic and plays a lot. It can become very possessive if not trained to share things. It does not make a very good companion of other pets. It needs a good training from a very young age otherwise it becomes very aggressive later on. It loves company and it is not advisable to keep it alone.
