Breed Information
The bullmastiff breed is considered a working and a guard dog by most kennel clubs. It was registered by English Kennel Club in 1924. This breed of dog is a cross breed of Bulldog and English mastiff, having two third features of Mastiff and one third features of Bulldog. The bullmastiffs are very strong and physically dominating animals.

Physical Characteristics
The bullmastiff has a large body. It is a heavy dog; weighing around 50 kilograms on average. The average height of a bullmastiff is around 25 inches. The females are a bit shorter than the males and weigh a little less. The bullmastiff has a short but broad head having a large muzzle. Its nose is black and has big nostrils. The V shaped ears of the bullmastiff are set wide apart on the bullmastiff head. The ears are dark coloured. The eyes are hazel in colour. The tail is slightly bent towards the back of legs. The hair of this dog is short. It mainly comes into three colours; these are fawn, brindle or red with black marks on the head.
Nature of Breed
This is a very loyal and courageous dog, which protects the human from dangers. It stands guard before the man in case of danger and can attack very aggressively if need arises. This makes it very good watchdog. But these are not tempted to protect things so they might not protect your house and belongings when you are not around. The bullmastiff bonds very much with the family and the kids if trained in a good manner. It is quite calm in nature but is fearless.
