Breed Description
The Chinese Foos is a splits type dog originated from China. This breed is specially used for guarding Buddhist temples. The Breed is considered as spiritual dog by Chinese peoples. This Breed is multi talented, which has been used for hunting, herding, sledding and as watch dog throughout its history.

Physical Characteristics
The Chinese Foo dog is compact and has a square profile. This breed is found in three sizes as Toy, Miniature or Standard. The Chinese Foos lives upto10-12 years. This breed is also known as Happiness Dog, Celestial Dog and Sacred Dog of Sinkiang. The Chinese Foos is belongs to Northern/Companion, Working, Guarding and Hunting group. In this breed both the male and female are of same height and weight in all three different sizes. The small size of this breed has 10-25 cm in height with weight of 5-9 kg. Similarly medium and large size breed has height (25-28cm)and (38- 45 cm) with the weight of (10-22 kg )and (22- 30 kg). This breed appears in various colors like black, black and tan, blue, brown and blue, cream and sable, fawn (yellow-cream to brown), orange, red (light gold to deep mahogany), sable and wolf gray (medium gray to silver).The female Chinese Foos give birth to 3-6 puppies averagely. This breed has long or short hair with moderate shed.

Nature of Breed
The Chinese Foos is active, alert, courageous, hardy, agile and strong dog. The short, medium size of this breed is comfortable in apartment life style. But larger ones suit only for outdoors. The Chinese Foos is very efficient and effective guard dog. The Smaller sized Chinese Foos is highly devoted family pet. The medium to giant sized breeds are used as working dogs. This breed is good to training and easily socialized.
