Breed Description
The Doberman pinscher is a new breed which is created by using Pinschers, German Shepherds Rottweilers, Greyhounds, Beauceron, English Greyhounds and German Pinschers. It was created by a German tax collector Louis Doberman as a watchdog. The Doberman pinscher was presented to its first dog show in 1876.This breed is used as watch dog from its bred time to till now.
Physical Characteristics
The Doberman pinscher is a medium sized dog with a square shaped body. This breed is compact and muscular with very strong appearance. This breed is also known as Doberman. The life span of this breed is between 8-12 years. The Doberman pinscher belongs to Mastiff or ACK Working group. The male breed weighs (30-40 kg) with the height (66-71cm) at the withers. The female breed weighs (30-36 kg) with the height (60-66 cm) at the withers. The female give birth to 3-8 puppies. In Doberman pinscher breed black, red, blue and fawn colors are applicable. Black is the most common color and the most recognizable. This breed has short hair with moderate shade. This breed should be given food twice a day, because they prone to obesity.
Nature of Breed
The Doberman is energetic, alert and fearless in nature. This breed is very local and obedient to their owners. If this breed is properly trained it is an excellent for both family dog and effective watch dog. The Doberman is very intelligent and quick learning dog than any other breeds. This breed is varying in temperament more than most of the other breeds. But Doberman of nearly any temperament can be a good and reliable family dog.
