These dogs are very famous. These dogs are used as a reference for the cartoons. The Dogue de Bordeaux is extremely large. Their head is much larger as comparative in their body. They are good protector for both adult and children’s. Their body is more powerful and very large. These dogs are very affectionate nature. Life span ranges from 10-12 years for both male and female Dogue de Bordeaux. Litter size ranges from 9 to 10 puppies. The groups to which they belong are mastiff. These dogs are available in three colors that are red-brown, mahogany, fawn. Hair length is short. Dogue de Bordeaux male height is 60 to 68 cm and female height is 58 to 66 cm. Dogue de Bordeaux male weight ranges from 50 to 52 kg. Female Dogue de Bordeaux weight ranges from 45-47 kg. These dogs are good for the rural areas.

Breed History:
The dog origin was from England. It is a mixed breed of English mastiff and local French guard dog. According to the historians these dogs have been present around since 1200s. The breed is specifically recognized by the name Dogue de Bordeaux at the dog show in 1863. The term Dogue present in the name is used for hunting and working dogs in French. When the official standards are not given then the winning dog was known as working dog from Bordeaux
