Breed Description:
French bulldogs are sturdy, compact and strongly boned. These dogs are short with a build variation from small to medium. Their ears are rounded like a bat. Their head ids square flat with large rounded eyes and their muzzle is flat. They are full off intelligence, alert, active and curious nature. These qualities make this dog a good watch dog their tail is corkscrew like or straight tail. Their life span ranges from 10-12 years and litter size ranges from 3-5 puppies. The group to which this dog belongs is Non-sporting group. the color in which these dogs are available are brindle, brindle white, fawn and white and any color other than these combinations – solid black, mouse , liver, black and tan, black and white and white with black. Hair length is short. They are medium sized dogs. French bulldog male and female height varies from 19-22 inch. French bulldog male and female weight varies from 22-28 pounds. French bulldog is a best indoor dog. These dogs are not fit for cold weather.
Breed History:
These dogs are originated from miniature bulldogs that were bought to France. Export of miniature bulldogs became so popular in 1860’s. These dogs became star in working class. These dogs have enough strength to work hard.
Nature of Breed:
These dogs are playful and always need attention towards them. There bark is very deep but they don’t like excessive barking. These dogs are loveable. They are called as a “little clown” they are true lap dog, an extreme lover, a best friend and a good body guard. There are some another names of French bulldog – Frenchie, Little Clown and Frog Dogs.
