Breed Description
The German Shepherd Dog is a breed adapted from the mountain sheepdog of Germany to work as a military dog in 1880. In Germany this breed is bred in three areas Wurttemberg, Thurginia and Bavaria. The breeds from these areas including long hair, short hair and wire haired herding dogs are used to produce the German shepherd dog.

Physical Characteristics
The German Shepherd Dog is a very strong and alert breed. This breed has noble appearance with a strong and chiseled head. The life span of this breed is 13-15 years. The German shepherd is also known as Alsatian. This breed is belongs to herding group. The German shepherd appears in various colors, but white color is not permitted. Black and tan is the most popular and most common color. The male weighs (35-38kg) with the height of (60-66cm).The female breed weighs same with slight variation in height (55-60cm). The Female breed gives birth to 7-8 puppies averagely. The size of the hair appears in Medium, Large and Extra Large with moderate shade. The German shepherd is fairly inactive in indoors, because they need exercise regularly.
