Breed Description
The Giant Schnauzers is the largest of the Schnauzer breed, originating from Munich, Germany. This is a versatile breed it used as cattle driving dogs in Bavaria, sheepherders, guarding, and as noble companions. The police and military also use this breed as guard dogs or police dogs to this day.

The Giant Schnauzer is a dog with square build and extra large in appearance. This breed is also known as Risen Schnauzer, Munich Schnauzer and Russian Bear Schnauzer. The life span of this breed is between 12-15 years. The Giant Schnauzer is belonging to Herding and AKC Working group. This breed appears in two colors are solid black and salt and pepper. The male breed weighs (36-45 kg) with the height of (63-71cm). The female breed weighs (27-36 kg) wit h the height of (58-66 cm).The female breed gives birth to 5-8 puppies averagely. The Giant Schnauzer has medium sized hair with light shade. The best suited home for this breed is large yards.

The Giant Schnauzer is very alert to their surroundings. This breed is very good and intelligent in nature. This breed is very attached to owner and often has a tough time if ownership is changed. This breed is an excellent guard dog and will alert you to visitors, intruders or anything particularly out of the ordinary. This breed is easily trained. Being a large dog, extra attention should be taken because as they could get accidentally hurt by someone or something. Giant Schnauzer is highly intelligent, imposing, and extremely protective of their family and territory.
