This breed of dog is recognized as a non sporting breed. The Keeshond is a mix breed of the Samoyed, Chow Chow, Elkhound, and Pomeranian. It is thought to be originated in the Netherlands. The keeshond is also known by the following names; Dutch Barge Dog, Smiling Dutchman, Chien Loup, German Spitz, Wolfsspitz, Deutscher Wolfsspitz and Kees. The average lifespan of this dog is 12 to 15 years.

Physical Characteristics
The keeshond is not a large dog, the average height of a male is 17-19 inches and that of a female is around 15-17 inches. Both the male and female weigh the same and their weight is around 55-66 pounds. Its face has a stark resemblance to a fox. It has long hair, and a double coat. The ears of the keeshond are triangular and pointed. The muzzle is of medium length. It has a medium length tail which is curled on the back. The colour of keeshond is a mix of grey, black or cream
Nature of Breed
The keeshond is a very jolly and joyous dog. It is very loving, intelligent and fun loving. It bonds with the human in a very good manner. It loves to be with the people especially kids. It is very well behaved and it does not have any issue with other pets. They are very sensitive and feel very lonely when left alone for long times. This loneliness can also cause behavioral problems and it might become very aggressive and irritated dog. They have a natural tendency to hear and suspect things, so it can also act as a very good watch dog.
