Physical Characteristics
The Labrador is a large dog. The average height of a male Labrador is around 22 to 24 inches and more. The female is relatively smaller and is around 21 to 23 inches high. The male Labrador weighs around 27 to 36 kilograms whereas the female weighs around 25 to 32 kilograms. The Lab has a very muscular and bulky body. It has long nose and the legs are also longer in contrast to the whole body. The Lab comes in three basic colours i.e. yellow, chocolate and black, in a variety of shades. It has a short and hard coat.

Nature of Breed
The Labrador is a very active and intelligent pet. It is very friendly. It loves to play with the kids and other family members. But care should be taken since it is very heavy and can hurt a small kid by mistake. It is not meant to be a guard dog because it is too friendly and barks very less. It is not aggressive, and can be friendly with strangers in a short while. They need constant care and attention of the owner, otherwise it can become problematic.
