Breed Information
It is a small sized dog looks like a toy. It has a life span of 12-16 years and litter size 3-5 puppies. It has medium sized hairs. It can be of any color like reddish mahogany, tan, tan/wheat and black, black, grizzle or gray, blue, liver. The height of this dog is less than 37 cm and its weight is up to 17 pounds. It has a jaunty look and an intelligent expression. It has small ears on the rectangular face. It has dark brown eyes and curly hairs on its face. It has a long neck and a long tail high on the hips. The puppies of this breed are born with dark coats and their color changes afterwards as they get mature.

Breed History
This breed has its origin in England. It was bred in the England (Lake Region). It was basically used as a fox and ratter hunter. The Dandie Dinmont Terrier, the Border Collie, the Bedlington Terrier and Old English Wirehaired Terrier, all the breeds were crossed to get this breed. Basically farmers use this breed for hunting and as a watchdog for their farms.

Nature and Temperament
It is an intelligent and energetic dog which is very easily trained. It loves to be with the family. If they are kept alone they show their anger by bark or digging behavior. They learn very quickly. It is a good companion pet. It is good for all aged children. It is a protective dog for families. It loves to play, interact with strangers.
