These are medium sized dogs having a life span of 12-14 years and litter size of 2-6 puppies. It is found in many colors such as blue merle, red/liver merle, black, and red/liver solid colors with white markings on the face, chest and legs. Its height is up to 46 cm. Its weight is up to 40 pounds. It looks like the Australian Shepherd. They have medium sized hairs with waves. It has athletic body. It is tall at the shoulders. It has straight legs which are slightly arched. It keeps its head high while walking and low while working livestock. The eyes can be of many colors such as blue, brown, amber and flecked but are always slightly almond shaped and very clear and alert looking. Natural bobtail is the name given to its short tail. It has triangular ears high on the head.

Breed History
It was developed in the late1960’s. It was bred from the smallest Australian Shepherds. It was bred for the desire of owners to have well behaved herding type dog and they want a dog which is suited for small living places. It was first bred in United States.
Nature and Temperament
It is a good working dog. It resembles to standard Australian Shepherd. They love to be with the people and all types of animals. They are also good with children. They do well in the houses. It is not aggressive but live comfortably in the house. It is a great companion dog. They are very active dogs and also need some exercise daily.
