These are large sized dogs. These dogs have a life span of 12-15 years and litter size of 7-14 puppies. They are found in gray coat with lighter undercoat. The hairs are of medium length. Its height is up to 21 inches. Its weight is up to 60 pounds. They are suited for houses having large yards for exercise. They cool climate are best for this breed. It has compact and muscular body. It has strong and straight legs. It has long and deep ribs on deep chest. It has triangular ears. It has an alert expression. It has dark and brown eyes. It is intelligent and full of vigilance. It has dark black tail carried in a typical spits roll over the back. They have two coats one dark and other light. The color of coat lightens as they age.

Breed History
It was developed since around 5000 BC. He is a Viking dog basically. He was used to hunt big game and moose through to guarding and herding. This breed is the oldest domestic breed in the world. It helped the hunter in hunting rabbits, reindeer, caribou, badger and bear but recently it is used as a good watch dog and a guard dog.

It is a large size dog used outdoor for hunting in early times. It has a fun-loving and playful personality. They are very energetic dogs. They are very intelligent and alert dogs. They are affectionate, loveable and good family dogs. They are aggressive but good with children. They love to be the part of family and never like to be alone.
