Breed Information
These are small sized dogs. They have toy type appearance. These dogs have a life span of 12-16 years and litter size of 2-3 puppies. They are found in colors such as Red (all shades), Black/Tan and Gray. Its height is up to 10 inches. Its weight is up to 12 lbs. it is perfect for urban area. They are not good for open rural area. It is a good family dog. It is very energetic. It loves to be with its family. It loves to please its master. It is also good with the children. They only need small place to play and chase. It seems like Norfolk Terrier but it has a different ear shape from that breed. It has straight ears rather than triangular.

Breed History
It was first recognized in mid of 1800s. It has its origin in East Anglia. Irish Terrier is the ancestor breed of this dog. It was used as rater and a hunting dog in early times. It was also helpful in fox hunting. In 1932 this breed was available in two types, dogs with drooping ears and dogs with sharper “prick” ears. Their ears were cropped at that time and England stopped this practice. This breed always makes its master happy.

Nature and Temperament
It is a very intelligent, friendly and alert dog. It uses to bark at every movement. It wants to be with the owner. It gets nervous very quickly. They are best for urban and sub urban are and not good for rural area. These dogs are basically used for hunting and ratting. These are also some what aggressive.
