The Pembroke Welsh Corgis are recognized as herding dogs. This breed originated in 800 in Sweden. It originated from Swedish Vallhunds. The Pembroke Welsh Corgis was bred for taking care of cattle and sheep. The Pembroke Welsh Corgis is also known as Welsh corgi and Corgi. The average lifespan of a Pembroke Welsh Corgis is about 12 to 15 years.

Physical Features
The Pembroke Welsh Corgis is a medium sized animal. The male and female are of same size, and weigh the same. The Pembroke Welsh Corgis is 10 inches to 12 inches in height. A healthy Pembroke Welsh Corgis weighs around 11 to 14 kilograms. The legs of a Pembroke Welsh Corgis are of short length. The tail is very short. It has small and dark eyes. The ears are straight and do not fold or fall downwards. It has a wedge shaped head and a tapered muzzle. The coat of this dog is a double coat having medium length hair. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi can be of a number of colours namely sable, red, fawn, black or tan. There can be white markings in all the colours.

The Pembroke Welsh Corgis is very happy and jolly natured. It is a very loyal pet. They are family dogs and love to be with the family and play with the kids a lot. It is very easy to train and it can learn new things easily. They have to be socialized from early ages if they are to be kept with other pets. They are wary of strangers and bark a lot on seeing a stranger.
