Pugs Dog Breed Information

Breed Description:
These are the toy sized dogs having a life span of 12-14 years. They have litter size of 4-8 puppies and the average is about 5 puppies. These are mostly found in colors silver, apricot-fawn, or black. Their hair length is very short. These are companion dogs and suitable in indoor environments. These are playful, outgoing, dignified, and charming. The ears should be small and thin, black in color and soft with a feel of velvet. They have dark colored eyes and also have some wrinkles on the forehead and the cheeks. They look like small teddy. Its body is short, wide in chest and is very well ribbed up. It also have mole on cheeks. It is the largest breed in the toy group breeds in the world. Pugs are the most beautiful and attractive pets among other breeds.

Breed History:
There is no proper information about the history of the Pugs but it is believed that the pug is descended from the Lo-sze which was different from other breeds due to its short muzzle, elastic skin, short hair and the prince mark on its forehead. China was the first country to be the source of this breed. In 1572 a pug saved the life of a prince and after that it becomes official dog. In 1860 black Pugs were imported from China to other countries.

Nature of Breed:
Pugs are very pretty dogs which are somewhat stubborn. They are good with children but they never like so much playing and exercise. They are also sensitive. These dogs are just the companion dogs but not the guard dogs.
