Breed History:
The Red and White Setter is actually the founding breed of the Irish Setter. Originally it was a gundog breed of Ireland for hunting the birds. American enthusiasts started breeding the white and red coat out of the breed. The breed is still loved by its supporters but still not as common as the all red Irish Setter.
Nature of Breed:
The Red and White Setter is a friendly and open personality. They are gentle, kind and very affectionate dogs. These are one of the best family pets. They are not always good watchdogs because they welcome all other pets instead of barking them. They need regular and daily exercise so they are not good to kept in flats and apartments.
