The Schipperke is originated in Belgium. This breed is existed from the black Belgian sheepdog. This breed is good companion for the captains, which can able to spent many months in sea.

The Schipperke is breed which strongly resembles the American Eskimo Spitz breed. This breed appears to be short and thick. This breed has square shaped body with thick double layered coat. This Breed is also known as Spitzkes, Spitskes and Spits. The life span of this breed ranges between 15-18 years. The Schipperke is belonging to Northern and Non-Sporting Group. In this breed both male and female are same heights
(28-33 cm) and weight (5-8 kg). The female breed gives birth to 2-3 puppies. The color of the breed is only black .This breed appears to be Toy or small sized with medium size of hair. Due to their size, this breed is good for apartment life style.

The Schipperke is good watch dog. This breed is very devoted to their owners. The Schipperke appears a little aloof, which creates fear to stranger, for this reason it is used as Watch dog. This breed is very faithful in their work. This breed is independent in nature. The Schipperke has temperament to face any type of task. This breed is very good companion for fisherman as its loves water. This breed is good protective dog for families living in apartment. This breed is socialized to be tolerant. This breed is very well to cats and other pets in home. Hence this breed is intelligent one.
