The Scottish Terrier is originated in Scotland around the 1800s. This breed is recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1930. The Scottish Terrier is the breed created to work as a farm dog. This breed can hunt foxes, badgers, wildcats and other varmints.

The Scottish Terrier is a small breed with strong and sturdy appearance. The shape and profile of this breed is unique. The Scottish Terrier is a small and resilient dog with short legs which helps to move exceptionally fast .This breed has small almond shaped eyes with large nose and very alert ears. The life span of this breed is around 13-14 years. This breed is also known as Aberdeen Terrier or Scottie. In this breed both male and female are of same height (25-28 cm) and weight (8.5-10.5 kg).This breed appears to be Toy or Small Sized with long hair. The Scottish Terrier is belong to Southern and AKC Hound group. The color of the Scottish Terrier varies from dark gray to jet black. This breed is excellent for indoor.
