The Spinone Italiano is originated in Italy. This breed is also considered as a ancient breed of Gun Dog, which is originated in Celtic Ireland. This breed is mostly used as hunting Dog.

Physical Characteristics:
The Spinone Italiano is a distinctive dog with strong bone structure and muscled appearance. This breed is also known as Italian Spinone, Italian Griffon, Italian Coarse haired Pointer and Italian Wire-haired Pointer. This breed has life span of 12-14 years. The Spinone Italiano is belonging to Sporting and Gun Dog group. The male breed weighs (34-49 kg) with height between (60-70 cm).The female breed weighs (29-34 kg) with height between (59-65cm). The female breed gives birth to 8 puppies averagely. The Spinone Italiano appears large in size with medium hair with moderate shed. This breed appears in various colors like White, White with Orange markings, Orange/Orange Roan with or without orange markings, White with Brown markings, Brown Roan, with or without Brown markings. The Spinone Italiano is good to be an outdoor dog.

The Spinone Italiano is typically an easy going dog breed which is lovable and calm. During the training period, its intelligence needs to be addressed. This breed is not good for being guard or protective dog, because it is less aggressive and less territorial in nature. This breed is good in training for reward systems than other techniques.
