It is a dog with high energy and large in size. It is not suited for apartments and need open yards to live. The life span of this breed is 11-15 years and the litter size is 6-8 puppies. It is mostly in dark rust color. It is a very muscular, sleek and very athletic looking that is used for hunting as well as a companion pet. They are full of alertness, energy and eagerness. It has a well formed nose and mouth in brownish color. The eyes are always alert like any hunting dog. The eye color is amber or yellowish in most Vizslas. Vizslas have a moderately wide and deep chest and straight and powerful legs. They are very alert as well as friendly they like to play with the family members.

Breed History
This breed first appears in the 10th century with the Magyar horde, a warlike, nomadic tribe, wandering all across Central Europe until settling in Hungary. The early breeders admire the hunting qualities of this breed. So they breed Vizslas. Batthyany, Nadasdy and Zay families were one of those breeders. Now it has become the recognized competitor at hunting trials.
Nature and Temperament
This breed is intelligent and fearless. It is a loyal, affectionate, gentle and vulnerable pet. This is also a protective dog. It forms a bond soon with its owner and follows him in the house from room to room. It is not a noisy dog but remains quiet. It is a gentle, quiet, good-natured dog and highly intelligent and also good with children.
