It is a medium sized dog having a life span of 10-12 years. It is a healthy and active dog. The litter size is of 3-6 puppies. It has a black jacket on the body, medium sized hairs on it. These are active dogs and never tire soon. They can well manage in the apartments with small yards. Its head, underbody and legs are tan in color and black jacket is there. Their tails are docked which gives a square shaped appearance. It is a spirited and very friendly dog. Its head is rectangular and has noses black and squared off. It is a good hunting dog for bird hunting and fox hunting. They are intelligent, energetic and calmed nature. This breed is best suited in a family.

Breed History
This breed was originated in Wales around the 1800s. The word terrier comes from “terra” a Latin word, which means earth. They were bred to hunt otter, badgers and fox on Welsh farms. For these tasks people want dogs who are compact, natural and brave hunter. The Welsh Terriers were best suited for this purpose.
Nature and Temperament
It is a brave, alert and active dog which makes it a good hunter. It is also a very intelligent and friendly dog. They are love pleasing dogs and rarely shy. They perform well in city and families. They are good family pets because of there loyalty and goodness with children. They love to swim and also very playful. They are calm and quite. But the bitches are more alert than dogs and they are better hunters than the male dogs.
